CAMS and the WMO Barcelona Dust Regional Center

We are glad to invite you to read a new post on "What is Saharan dust and how does it change the atmosphere and the air we breathe?" published on the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) website. The article overviews different aspects associated with desert dust episodes affecting Europe in the last months.  

The European Center for Medium Weather Forecast (ECMWF), entrusted to operate the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) on behalf of the European Union, is a member of the Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System (SDS-WAS) and contributes to the multi-model ensemble of the WMO Barcelona Dust Center (the WMO SDS-WAS Regional Center for Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe keep filling the gaps in knowledge about the role of dust in the Earth system.
